Temporary Assistant Chief Constable
(Citizen Focus)

Chris Miller heads the Citizen Focus portfolio with responsibility for development and delivery of neighbourhood policing, overseeing the Policing Pledge, work with schools and young people, crime prevention and crime reduction including development of initiatives to support those most affected by crime such as the elderly and those who suffer from domestic violence and business crime.

His team also delivers on the force Confidence, Equality and Human Rights agenda which addresses specifically the needs of those from minority communities.  He leads corporately on the Special Constabulary, volunteers and cadet corps,  management of police information, Freedom of Information Act and data protection issues.  He is a member of the Hertfordshire Children’s Trust Partnership Board.

Chris is also the force executive lead for Corporate Communications and for the force control room and contact centre.

“The Citizen Focus portfolio works to better develop high class policing services to all sections of our community across Hertfordshire.  The public deserve the best possible service from their local police and we aim to include as wide a range of views and thoughts from local people about the sort of services they need and the best ways in which we can deliver those services.   We aim to work not only with local people but with partners such as the voluntary sector, Hertfordshire County Council, Health teams and our independent advisors, that we can meet that challenge.”

Before joining Hertfordshire, Chris Miller worked for the Metropolitan Police Service.
