DIRECTIONS:
By
car
Leave the A1(M) at junction 4. Take the first left off
the major roundabout, and follow the road signposted
for Stanborough/Wheathampstead (A6129). At the bottom
of the hill turn right at the roundabout onto Stanborough
Road. You will soon see Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters
on your right.
From
the east
Follow the A414 until you come to the major roundabout
(Tesco supermarket on left) which forms the junction
with the A1(M). From there follow the route into Welwyn
Garden City as shown above.
By
train
Welwyn Garden City is on the WAGN Kings Cross to Cambridge
line and there is a frequent service of both semi-fast
and stopping trains. Passengers approaching from the
north on this line will almost certainly have to change
at Stevenage, as no main line express trains stop at
Welwyn Garden City.
On
leaving the station walk through the shopping mall into
Howardsgate. The taxi rank is ahead of you. If you choose
to walk allow about 40 minutes (1½ miles).
The
railway station is in the centre of Welwyn Garden City.
