Beating Burglary

Operation GuardianHertfordshire continues to be one of the safest counties in the UK, with home burglary levels having reduced by almost half in the past ten years to a current level averaging fewer than one burglary in each district per day. When home burglaries do happen, they are taken very seriously by Hertfordshire Constabulary and we are working hard to prevent burglary and to identify and bring those responsible to justice. We understand that burglaries can be very upsetting and will often impact on people’s feelings of security within their home.  Under our burglary prevention campaign, Operation Guardian, we undertake a range of burglary prevention activities, including carrying out regular patrols to deter burglars and working with Neighbourhood Watch, local councils and other partners to keep residents and local businesses informed about how best to secure their property.
