Hertfordshire County Council wants you to enjoy a safe and great
night out – but if you don’t drink safely and sensibly, you could
be putting yourself at risk.

Top tips for ensuring a great night out
There are lots of ways to ensure your night full of promise doesn’t
turn into a morning full of regret.
- Alternating alcoholic drinks with
soft or low alcohol ones
- Drinking more slowly
- Consuming alcohol with food
- Don’t drink when you’re
- Plan how you’re going to get home
before you go out
- Book a licensed taxi or agree to
be the designated driver and then don’t drink
- Use a taxi marshalling scheme if
there’s one in your town
- Never get into a stranger’s car or
with someone who has been drinking
- Never walk home alone and don’t
let your friends either
- Always dial 999 if you’re in immediate
