Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a suspicious incident in Hertford.

At approximately 10am, a man believed to be in his 30s, was reported to have stripped off all his clothes on in Hertford (B100) and then run into the woods near Panshanger Park and in the direction of Panshanger quarry. The man left his clothes in a pile on the ground and was left only wearing white underpants.

Shortly before this happened the man was seen talking to another male on a push bike. As the man ran off, the male on the bike followed him into the woods.
The man was described as white, with dark wavy hair and a beard. The other male on the bike was reported to be wearing dark clothing.

Investigating officer Inspector Andy Palfreyman said: “We are appealing for any members of the public who believe they may have seen the man or the other male with the bike to please get in contact as soon as possible. There are concerns for the man’s welfare.

“If you believe you are the person with the bike who was seen talking to the man, or if you think you know who he could be, I’d also be really interested to speak to you as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the police non-emergency number 101.
