 Meet a Neighbourhood Constable - PC Dean Cornish
PC Dean Cornish I currently work on the Neighbourhood Team stationed at Cheshunt Police Station as the ward co-ordinator. I have been based at Cheshunt for seven years. Along with the rest of the team, I am responsible for identifying and solving ongoing problems and work closely with other agencies in order to resolve these issues. In addition, we gather and collate intelligence about local offenders which we then use to target and disrupt them. The team are currently working on issues raised from the local community in line with the policing pledge, these are listed below.  Priorities for Goffs Oak and Cheshunt West
The local community priorities for Goffs Oak and Cheshunt West are:

Anti-social behaviour
Baisley house, Valence drive, Rosedale estate. Concerns have been received about anti social behaviour occurring. Regular patrols to continue. A Special point of contact for this location has been appointed who are Pc Holly Dawson & PCSO Harvery 6540. Any concerns or information that will assist us to resolve these concerns please contact them. A dedicated effort to provide Crime Prevention advice will also be made and residents are encouraged to contact us with any queries or concerns they have.
Anti-social behaviour
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour involving nuisance youths appleby street along with the Co-op, Goffs Lane Fri – Sat 1800 - 2300. PC’s & PCSO are patrolling hotspot areas in the evenings over the weekend. Further arrangements in hand for attendance of mobile police unit and patrols.
Anti-social behaviour
Tackling Anti-social Behaviour involving nuisance youths at Franklin Avenue and Rosedale Estate – Andrews Lane shops Thurs – Sun 1800 - 2300. Using patrols both on foot and vehicles during daylight and night hours.The team will also be encouraging neighbourhood involvement by arranging NHW meetings and meetings with local shops and churches. A police surgery is held at the Free Church in this location. The team will also look to identify offenders and deal using Anti-Social Behaviour legislation.

These priorities have been agreed and set through local meetings, consultation and direct contact from local residents. Our policing priorities are your priorities. Please feel free to contact us and help us set them so we are where you want us to be.

Neighbourhood action day success on the Whitefields estate. The Community payback team, local policing team and the residents ass all took part in the day. The payback team made up of people carrying out community service helped start the work on the community garden and gardening on Shaw Close. Then the police local councilliors and residents took part in the estate litter pick. A great result of partnership working. Well done all

Recent concerns have been made regarding anti-social behaviour around Franklin Ave, cheshunt. Your concerns are being positively dealt with. If you have information regarding this area please contact the team as it all helps.


Residents are encouraged to continue to ensure their properties are as secure as they can be, this includes double locking doors (in particular UPVC doors) and placing your sets of house/car keys aware from the front door but still in an accessible location for any emergencies.

Residents are asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious incidents to the police. The team are happy to provide crime prevention advice, please contact us if you have any concerns.

The team have been patrolling around the Andrews Lane area, particularly by the shops, to deter bad behaviour by youths in the Rosedale area . We have also concentrated efforts in recently in the library and Co-op at Goffs Oak where there have been increased reports of anti-social behaviour by young people there.

A member of the Safer Neighbourhood Team will make every effort to be available at the Goffs Oak Church coffee mornings on Tuesdays to assist residents with any queries or concerns.

We have also started conducting random speed checks on the beat. If residents have any specific areas they feel give cause for concern could they please contact the team on the details given
