Local news and updates for Hemel S East
Police along with the residents of Leverstock Green have decided the priorities should remain.

Speeding still remains an issue within Bennetts End and Leverstock Green. We carry out regular effective Laser Gun duties within both areas, drivers are dealt with accordingly. The high visibility presence at peak times of the day, will no doubt reduce speeding in areas and as a whole send a message out to the public. This will be an ongoing priority.

I have had no reports of anti social behaviour within the priority areas. These will remain a priority. Officers will be patrolling in the areas for public reassurance and will deal with any anti social behaviour.

There were a number of burglaries in June and July at Leverstock Green Village Hall, I am pleased to say after an extensive investigation I arrested two offenders, who are both on bail awaiting their court appearance in August.
There has been one burglary within the Leverstock Green area, although this is unfortunate for the victim. It is good news for this crime to be so low.

Crime prevention advice -

Distraction Burglary is where criminals come to your house and make up a story to get into your property, or to carry work out on your property eg gas man, water board or general maintenance. Whilst in your property they will try and steal items.

Tips
If you are not sure who is at your door, don't open it!
Always ask for Identification, a genuine caller will wait outside while you check their ID by calling their organisation.
Telephone a neighbour or friend to come along and check the caller before you open the door.
Many utility services have password schemes you can sign up to or hotline numbers for customers to call.
Don't keep large quantities of cash at home.
If somebody asks for your help, needs to make a telephone call, has lost a ball in your garden, needs a drink refer them to a younger neighbour or assist them through a closed door.
If you suspect a bogus caller has visited you, even if you did not let them in, call the police straight away.

Please pop in and see your local officers at one of our surgeries, the dates are below. You can discuss local matters and help with any enquiries you may have.
