Meet a Neighbourhood Constable - PC Paul Chalkley
PC Paul Chalkley Hello, I am PC Paul Chalkley and I am the Neighbourhood Co-ordinator for Borehamwood South which covers Hillside and Kenilworth. I predominantly cover Hillside ward with PCSO Natalie Pearman. Kenilworth ward is patrolled by PC Graham Thomson and PCSO Marie Harvey. We work hard as a team to improve the quality of life for you and further improve your safety. We work closely with you, the residents, and our partner agencies including the local council and schools to reduce crime and the disproportionate fear of crime. We look forward to meeting with you at one of our regular ‘street meets’ or whilst we are out on high-visibility patrols - or you can give us a call.

Local news and updates for Borehamwood South
The team have been involved in a number of community engagement events recently where residents were able to speak to officers about the concerns they had in their street. From this information received at Borehamwood and Elstree train station and Tesco, Shenley Road our priorities have been altered to deal with the issue of speeding and parking in Bullhead Road and speeding and ASB in Denham Way/Robeson Way location.

On 29th April 2010 officers held an Environmental Action Day (EAD) in Manor Way, Borehamwood.
In association with our partner agencies, Paxton Court, Manor Way shops and Conway, Stirling, Balmoral and Arundel Houses were all leafleted and inspected for damage, graffiti and signs of disrepair. Officers questioned residents about their local concerns and the results have strengthened the priority for the area.

On June 1st a surgery was held at the BECC in Furzehill Road. Unfortunately only one person attended. There are further planned meetings at this location for the coming six months so please come along for a chat.

On 11th June 2010 officers and environmental health executed a warrant at an address in Rye Close, Borehamwood. This was following the failure of the tennant at the address to adhere to a noise abatement notice.

The kickboxing six week trial period is coming to an end and has been very successful. There has been a significant reduction in Anti Social Behaviour in Kenilworth Ward since the course began. The current feeling is that with funding from Hertsmere Borough Council, the course is going to be rolled out for a further 12 month period. Contact PC 184 Thomson on 01707 806614 or at graham.thomson@herts.pnn.police.uk for further details.
