Hertfordshire Constabulary has developed a range of partnerships over the past few years – all of which have played a significant role in securing safer communities.  Examples of some of these partnerships are shown below:

Admiral Insurance provided £5,000.00 for vehicle crime prevention initiatives supporting Operation Tarantula – an operation around vehicle crime.  The Constabulary used the money to buy anti-theft number plate devices, “sat nav” and car window stickers intended to deter car thefts.

CostCo Wholesale Ltd based in Watford has donated prizes (valued £75.00) in a bid to raise funds for Herts in Trust, the charity of Hertfordshire Constabulary and Fire Service, in return for a direct marketing opportunity to over 1000 staff based at our Headquarters site in Welwyn Garden City.

Andrew Rowley Toyota Dealership  In 2009 the Andrew Rowley Toyota Dealership continued its support of Watford Special Constables to the value of  £4,200.00 in their duties of carrying out nuisance patrols in the Watford and Three Rivers area.

During the year, a series of Crucial Crew events were running across the County.  The success of these events was made possible by donations from organisations such as North Herts District Council, Broxbourne Borough Council and Herts in Trust.

Crucial Crew is aimed at pupils in Year 6 to educate them and advise them on how to handle various scenarios such as safety on railways and building sites, first aid, stranger danger, bullying, seaside rescue and deliberate fires.

In 2009, John Lewis Welwyn Garden City supplied a coat to use on plain clothes & shoplifting operations in the town centre to the value of £220.00.

In August 2009, Riversmead Housing Association contributed £1,000.00 to the Hertford Neighbourhood Mountain Bike Project.

In December 2009, Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco and Wilkinsons stores across the county made generous contributions to a Christmas fundraising initiative, donating a total of £800.00.
