Michelle Dunn QPM is the Deputy Chief Constable for Hertfordshire Constabulary.
Michelle was promoted to Deputy Chief Constable for Corporate Services in December 2015.
Michelle started her Police career in Essex in January 1992 and during over 22 years with that force held a number of uniform and crime roles. Prior to undertaking senior command posts Michelle was responsible for securing funding for the first Police Community Safety Officers and leading a significant force change program to restructure public contact, call handling and crime recording including the introduction of a Crime Recording Bureau.
Whilst serving with Essex Police, Michelle was the Divisional Commander for Stansted Airport, Divisional Commander for Central Division, Chief of Staff and regularly undertook Gold Command of the force. She was also seconded to the Home Office Police Performance Unit where she helped to develop national performance indicators for policing.
In June 2017, Michelle was awarded the Queen's Policing Medal in her Birthday's Honours List.
