Homophobia in football

Hertfordshire Constabulary and the Hertfordshire FA are running a survey to gauge the county’s football fans’ attitudes to gay and lesbian players involved in the game and whether they have experienced or witnessed homophobia while either watching or playing a match.

Historically in football, and the general sporting arena, homophobia has been an issue. And with no footballers in the Premier League or Football League yet to come out as gay – it remains an issue today.

Both the Hertfordshire FA and the Constabulary would like to encourage as many of Hertfordshire’s football fans to participate as possible.

The results of the survey will help us to determine what needs to be done to ensure there is equality for all in Hertfordshire and that everyone feels safe at football matches - whether they are on the pitch or in the stands.

The survey takes no more than a couple of minutes to complete.

Prizes

Everyone who completes the survey will be in with a chance of winning two tickets to an England game.
