Operation Meadow has been running for five weeks now and, to date, we have received around 50 referrals from members of the public.
A team of specially trained officers are conducting enquiries into allegations of non-recent child abuse at Hill End Hospital Adolescent Unit in St Albans, which are reported to have occurred between 1969 and 1995.
We are continuing to gather information and evidence in relation to the adolescent unit and the experiences of those who stayed or visited there.
Anyone who may have information relevant to the on-going investigation can make contact with us by calling 101, using our online reporting option or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
We understand that some people may prefer a non-police response and those who feel they would prefer this type of support can contact their GP or Samaritans on 116 123 or www.samaritans.org. We’re working with our NHS partners, support agencies and charities to ensure that all those who make contact, in whatever capacity, will receive the help that they need.
