We have worked hard to ensure our firearms licensing processes adhere to the latest statutory guidance. This has resulted in increased work for each new grant and renewal application, with additional checks and scrutiny required.
These changes, along with increased demand, may mean delays in granting some applications. This also applies to variations, transfers, and updates.

Please note: We're aiming to respond to renewal applications in a timely manner. However, please be aware that you'll be committing an offence under the Firearms Act 1968 Section (1) if your certificate expires and you're still in possession of your weapon(s) and have not received notification of an extension.
Please help us by submitting renewal applications 20-24 weeks in advance of renewal expiry and ensure all applications are fully completed prior to submission.
