Q4 – Hertfordshire Constabulary ensures that all hate crime is allocated to a Hate crime officer to assist us with increasing the detection and prosecution of all hate crime including those committed against transgender people.
Q5- Within Hertfordshire we have trained LGBTQ+ liaison officers working across the service, and we have our own internal LGBTQ+ network. We continue to build partnerships with LGBTQ+ youth groups and colleges and have a community advisor in a Transgender support group. We attend Herts pride yearly and other local pride events within the community. We hosted the 2025 Hertfordshire LGBTQ+ conference which was attended by staff, partners and support groups.
Hertfordshire also has dedicated Hate crime officers who own the investigation of hate crimes rather than holding an advisory role. Having dedicated officer’s means we can put all our victims in contact with a specialist officer to help advise, support, reassure and build trust.
The numerical data presented in this response is an un-audited snapshot of un-published data sourced from "live" systems and is subject to the interpretation of the original request by the individual extracting the data.
