Appeal following GBH in Hertford

  • A woman was assaulted in Hertford after becoming involved in a verbal altercation with three people.

  • She was left with extensive bruising following the attack.

  • Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Officers investigating an incident of GBH in Hertford are appealing for information and witnesses.

Between 1.20am and 1.40am on Saturday, January 6, the victim – a woman aged in her 50s – was walking along Welwyn Road when she became involved in a verbal altercation with three people – believed to be two men and a woman. She was then assaulted before the three people made off in the direction of Hertford North train station.

Detective Constable Dieter Sweeting, who is investigating, said: “This was a violent attack, which has left the victim with extensive bruising.

“Anyone who saw the incident or saw three people in the area matching the descriptions is asked to contact me via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference A1/18/90 or report information online at www.herts.police.uk/report.
