Appeal following serious road traffic collision near Slip End, North Herts

  • Did you witness a collision between a Hyundai and van on the A505?

  • Two people were seriously injured as a result of the collision.

  • The road was closed as emergency services worked at the scene.

Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision near Slip End, North Herts yesterday evening (March 6).

Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway of the A505, Royston Road just past the Slip End junction at 6.37pm following a two vehicle road traffic collision.

A silver Hyundai and grey Mercedes van were in collision and the carriageway was blocked.

The ambulance and fire and rescue services are also in attendance.

At least two people have sustained serious injuries and their treatment is continuing.

The road has been closed between Royston and Baldock and will remain shut for some time.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicles or the events prior to the incident, should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference ISR 721 of March 6.
