Did you witness incident near Hitchin splash park?

  • A man was seen acting suspiciously on a bench.

  • Further witnesses are being sought.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as part of an ongoing investigation into an incident in Hitchin.

The incident occurred in Bancroft Park, between 6.30am and 11.30am on Friday 11 June.

It was reported that a man wearing a black hoodie was seen to be acting suspiciously while sitting on a bench.

Detective Constable Kate Rickard, who is investigating, said: “An arrest has been made in connection with the incident and we’re now seeking further independent witnesses as part of our ongoing enquiries. If you believe you saw a man acting suspiciously in the area between the times stated, please contact us with information.”
