Meet new St Albans PC Adam Dale

31 Dec 2021

Meet new St Albans PC Adam Dale who has become a police officer aged 44. Adam took a few moments to talk about his journey into policing:

Q. Why did you want to become a police officer?

A. I wanted a new career and not just another job. I wanted to help people, I wanted to feel the inclusion of being in a team, job security, a pension and to make a difference with something that had meaning. It was whilst working as a facilities supervisor for Thames Valley Police and being behind the scenes in police stations, that all the things I was looking for started to become apparent and it was right there, in the form of a police officer!

Q. Why did you choose Hertfordshire Constabulary?

A. I chose Herts over other forces, because of location but also because I knew that Herts has a family feel. You’re an important member of the team.

Q. What did you enjoy in training?

A. I’ve enjoyed the challenge, and finding my preferred style of learning, I learnt a lot about myself regarding this, and the support offered. Camaraderie has been good, with friendships formed.

Q. What are you looking forward to next?

A. The challenge, to learn and grow.
