  • A Good Samaritan intervened and grabbed the e-scooter

Officers are looking to trace a Good Samaritan who recovered a boy’s e-scooter when it was stolen during a robbery in Watford.

At around 4pm on Sunday 21 November, a group of six boys stole an e-scooter from a 14 year old boy in the High Street.

One of the offenders then sped off on the scooter before a pedestrian intervened and managed to grab hold of the handlebars to ensure that it didn’t get away.

Investigator Kirsty Treanor, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “We’d like to trace the kind man who intervened in this incident, both to thank him and also to see if he can help us with our case.

“Was this person you? Do you know the Good Samaritan? If you can help, please get in contact by calling the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 41/92107/21.

“If there are any other witnesses out there, or anybody with information about the incident, I would also be keen to hear from you. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you think you can help.”
