We are appealing for witnesses and information following two assaults in Park Street.

Firstly, at around 12:40pm on Wednesday 22 December, it has been reported there was an altercation between a man and a woman at the shops on How Wood during which the woman suffered bruising.

Then at around 3:30pm on the same day, a second altercation took place on Alder Close between two men. One man required hospital treatment for cuts and bruises to his head and body after being assaulted.

Detective Constable Stephanie Phillips, who is investigating, said: “While a man has been arrested in relation to both of these incidents, which are being linked, I’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed them take place.

“The first incident took place by the shops on How Wood and it is understood people were in the vicinity at the time. If you saw what happened then please get in touch.”
