North Herts Safer Neighbourhood Team officer Taz has served with Herts for eight years, including two years as a Special Constable.
“I was inspired to join policing as I grew up with public servants in my family, I knew it was a natural calling for me. I'm a bit of a geek so policing gave me the chance to use my passion and knowledge of law to help those from becoming victims of cybercrime and assist with those investigations, as well as many other types, of course.
“I previously served on response for six years which I loved! Being an SNT officer gives me the best of both worlds, I still attend 999 calls and respond to 'crimes in action', but as an SNT officer, I'm in a position to 'get ahead of the curve' and prevent crime and ASB from occurring at its easiest stage.
“The officers and members of police staff I've worked alongside, particularly during the COVID pandemic have really made me feel proud to serve in Herts. It's proven how well we support each other when faced with such a challenge. Herts police is often referred to as a family, the officers make it work and we don't give up.”
He added: “I would recommend Herts as it is a unique force. We border a number of forces who present their own challenges often transiting through our grounds. We have a great mix of both urban and rural policing which allows officers to get the best of both worlds. The main reason to join Herts is because of the officers and staff who work within it.”
