A man has been charged following an attempted armed robbery in Hatfield on Friday (1 April).
Police were called at 9.07am on Friday to reports of an attempted robbery at H&T Pawnbrokers in the town centre. The offender was reported to have been in possession of a gun and fled the scene after a staff member triggered an alarm.
The armed policing unit were immediately deployed to the scene and a gun was found discarded nearby.
On Saturday (2 April) officers arrested a man and he has now been charged.
Liam Boby, aged 23, of Flaxlands Court, Northampton, has been charged with attempted robbery. He will appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 3 May.
