Welwyn Garden City residents recently enjoyed a Coffee with a Cop event where they were introduced to their newest PCSOs.
The event took place at the Ludwick Family Centre in Hall Grove on Saturday 26 November and was run by officers Lucy Manning and Stacey Robinson, who are the new PCSOs for Peartree, Hollybush and Howlands.
PCSOs (or Police Community Support Officers) sit on Safer Neighbourhood Teams and are tasked with problem solving long- and short- term neighbourhood issues including anti-social behaviour.
At the event, residents were given crime prevention advice and free security devices including Faraday pouches which help to prevent keyless vehicle theft. They were also encouraged to bring along their bicycles so that they could get them security marked for free.
PCSO Manning said: “We were really pleased with the turnout and I would like to thank everybody for coming along. We’re looking forward to getting to know our local residents more over the coming months and we appreciated everybody who took the time to share their views on local policing. Please be assured that we will be working hard to look after Peartree, Hollybush and Howlands and ensuring they remain safe areas.”
