A 30 year old man has been recalled to prison after he was arrested in connection with a series of commercial burglaries in Royston.
On Friday 14 January, at approximately 5.45am, police were called by numerous residents reporting that a vehicle had crashed on Old North Road in Royston and that a man was behaving suspiciously nearby.
Officers attended the location and found a badly damaged vehicle and a large pile of copper pipes, a chainsaw, and two large power toolboxes.
Whilst at the scene officers were approached by a local business owner who wanted to report a burglary at his units in Greenfield in Royston. Another burglary at the same units was then also called in.
A 30 year old man was arrested on suspicion of three commercial burglaries, going equipped to steal and driving whilst unfit through drink. He was immediately recalled to prison as he was in breach of his license.
