Have your say on how we police Letchworth and Baldock
Main article content
If you live in Letchworth or Baldock and are interested in how your town is policed, then your local officers would like to meet you. They want to know your views on what issues you think they should be focussing on for the next six months.
A public meeting will be held on Tuesday 26 July 2022, between 7pm and 9pm, at the Mrs Howard Memorial Hall (NLC Room), Norton Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 1NX.
The Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) work with local communities, dealing with short and long-term neighbourhood issues. They also work in partnership with other local agencies including North Herts District Council, to tackle many of the ongoing problems.
The current local priorities for the Letchworth and Baldock SNT are:
Theft from vehicles
ASB in open spaces and car parks
Members of the public who would like to meet the local Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant are invited to come along to the public meeting to discuss the issues they feel are important.
“We need input from our local communities to help us understand the issues that are impacting on them,” explained Letchworth and Baldock Neighbourhood Sergeant Lisa Perks.
“We need to know what matters most to local residents, so we can make sure we allocate resources where they are needed. Sometimes there can be an issue that is having a negative impact on a local community, but it has not been officially reported to us, so we might not be aware. We hope to capture any missing intelligence through this forum and our feedback process.”
If you are unable to attend, there is also the opportunity for you to submit your views via OWL – the Online Watch Link system, and ‘echo’ - our community voice platform. Residents are being asked to submit their feedback regarding the issues that matter to them most, between Monday 18 July and Sunday 24 July 2022.
All feedback is anonymous, so if you are referring to a specific location please include as much information as possible.
If you are a member of OWL - our Online Watch Link – you can also complete our special priority setting survey which will be emailed to you. If you are not already a member and want to sign up to complete the survey and also receive police messages about a range of topics including burglaries, scams and missing people in your local area, go to OWL (opens in a new window) .
If you need any further information, please contact the Letchworth and Baldock Safer Neighbourhood Teams via email or by calling 101.
