Dog handler Dale Jenkins looks forward to going to work every day – he doesn’t even mind staying late, which you often have to do after handling an incident or making an arrest.
If you feel inspired to follow Dale into policing, find out more about how to apply, the training and support you get in a career that delivers both personal satisfaction and the opportunity to make a real and visible difference within your community.
Join our online session explaining all on Wednesday 22 June from 7-8.30pm.
You’ll meet serving police officers and find out about our new and exciting apprenticeship or degree holder routes into policing, the application process and the training.
Policing is a 24/7 service, and you’ll work a range of shifts, including nights, as we cover 365 days a year. You may not always be at home for Christmas or birthdays, but what you will get is the satisfaction of working in a job like no other.
You’ll be highly trained and well supported as you help countless people through some of the most difficult situations they have ever faced, supporting victims and witnesses and providing reassurance.
💰 Join as an apprentice and earn £27,280.
📅 Initial training takes 20 weeks. Then there’s on-the-job training.
🎓 Graduate after three years with a degree and zero student debt.
✔️ Or join as a graduate and be a police officer within two years.
⏰ Be prepared for shift work, job satisfaction and no two days ever being the same.
