Local residents told the team it was an issue, and it was made a policing priority.
Over the last three months, the team has conducted twelve operations in Radlett Roada.
During the operations, around 50 vehicles were spotted using the road, of which:
50% of drivers were reported for the offence
25% had a legal excuse for being on the road for access to deliver/collect
15% were issued verbal warnings
10% did not stop for officers
One local resident contacted the team to thank them for their efforts: “Many thanks for your continued work on this. It really has made a difference to us – we are on the Watford Road and we used to get woken up by a procession of these lorries, from 6am Monday to Saturday. It was awful! But it has been better since you started your campaign.”
PC Kris Endersbee said: “Feedback from local residents has been positive. We are committed to listening to local residents about what policing issues are affecting their quality of life and working to address them.”
