Welwyn Hatfield’s Operation Scorpion Team are continuing to crack down on the local drug supply and acquisitive crime.
Operation Scorpion, a specialist unit of mainly plain clothed officers, had two good results across Hatfield yesterday (Monday 28 November).
The morning began with the officers joining together with the Safer Neighbourhood Team to conduct a warrant at an address in Briars Lane. A quantity of cannabis was found and an investigation is underway.
Following the warrant, the team joined forces with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and located three stolen motorbikes within an unregistered garage in Homestead Road. All three bikes have been recovered and attempts are being made to contact the rightful owners.
PC Lewis Nobes, from Operation Scorpion, said “We are constantly looking out for any information and intelligence in relation to acquisitive crime and drug activity. We put in a lot of time and effort to secure warrants and act on information we receive. We want to ensure we act at the right time with the right authorities and resources to gain the best possible result. I hope these results reassure the public that we are listening.”
