A 14 year old Ukrainian boy who had his bike stolen, has been given a new set of wheels thanks to a Halfords employee and local officer PC Jamie Fannon-Hall.
Roman has been staying with a family in Letchworth for four months and attending a local school whilst learning English. Sadly, his bike was stolen on 5 August from Commerce Way in Letchworth, meaning Roman has no means to get to school.
PC Fannon Hall from the Letchworth Safer Neighbourhood Team approached Halfords to see if they could help with a replacement. Joe Dellar, who works at the store, came to the rescue and donated one of his old bikes. Halfords then gave Joe some new parts, so he could really do the bike up for Roman.
Roman went along with PC Gracie Robinson to collect the bike from Joe at the weekend.
