Residents are being invited to join local officers for a series of ‘Walk and Talk’ events in Sawbridgeworth.
The initiative has been organised by the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), as part of their continuing work to improve feelings of safety among the local community.
The walks are open to everyone (as well as children and dogs) and will enable people to discuss their concerns with officers in a more relaxed setting.
They will also enable people to directly point out areas in which they feel particularly unsafe, so officers can get a better understanding of what can be done to resolve the issues.
The walks are scheduled to start from Bell Street car park, at 6pm on the following dates:
PCSO Amanda Higham, from the Sawbridgeworth SNT, said: “Improving feelings of safety among the local community is a priority for us and we’re committed to working with our Community Safety Partnership* colleagues to tackle the issues that cause people the most concern.
“We’re piloting these events in the town over the coming months and would love to see as many people as possible. Your views are so important, as they enable us to ensure we’re focusing our efforts on what matters most.”
If you’re unable to attend the events, you can still give feedback anonymously via our online platform echo.
* The East Herts Community Safety Partnership consists of local organisations including East Herts Council, police, fire, education providers and justice services, who work to keep East Herts a safe place to live, work and visit.
