Officers are appealing for information and witnesses following an incident of vehicle interference in Letchworth.
At around 3.15pm on Saturday 8 July, a teenage boy attempted to gain access to a number of vehicles parked in Cowslip Hill.
He was described as white and was wearing a grey top, a man bag, army camouflage trousers and sliders.
PC Laura Bruckner, from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.
“You can email me directly and quote crime reference number 41/55015/23.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind motorists of the steps they can take to help keep their vehicle safe. Firstly, always double check that you have locked your car and don’t risk leaving it unlocked even when you are just popping back inside to get something.
“It is worth considering fitting CCTV on your home or driveway, to help deter thieves. You can also use PIR or LED security lighting to make your vehicle more visible and this can act as a deterrent too.
“Look for car parks with a Secured Car Park sign which have recognised levels of security. If you have a garage at home, ensure you use it and lock it properly.
“Noisy gravel on your drive can help deter a would-be thief, as they don't want to alert you to their approach.
