New policing priorities announced for Letchworth and Baldock

New policing priorities have been set for the Letchworth and Baldock Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs), following a feedback process involving the local communities.

Thanks to residents submitting their views via the force’s community feedback forum ‘echo’, the online watch link (OWL) and councillor liaison, new policing priorities are now in place, taking into account the information received.

The SNTs are tasked with fixing short and long-term neighbourhood issues, which include issues such as anti-social behaviour, drug related crime, car crime and speeding. They work closely with local partners including the council and schools to achieve this.

For the next six months the SNT will be focusing on:

• Speeding on Weston Way, Baldock
• Youth related ASB in Letchworth, particularly in Howard Park, Norton Common and the town centre

SNT Sergeant Lisa Perks, said: “Thanks to everyone who took the time to register their views, we really value your feedback so we can make sure we capture all of the issues affecting residents and allocate our resources accordingly.

“Your local team will continue working hard over the coming months to address these concerns. Together we will ensure that Letchworth and Baldock remain safe places to live, work and visit.
