A speeding operation was carried out in Digswell and Welwyn Garden City last week in response to concerns from residents.
On Thursday 27 July, the Safer Neighbourhood Team took to Station Road in Digswell and Heronswood Road at the junction of Linces Way in Welwyn Garden City in rush hour between 4pm and 6pm.
Officers scheduled the operation in response to complaints raised by local people via the constabulary’s community voice platform, echo.
PC Darren Turner said: “I hope the operation reassures residents that we take your concerns seriously. If there is a location that you are worried about, please let us know.
“Thankfully, no drivers were found to be exceeding the speed limit on this occasion.
“Speeding can carry such huge consequences and so we are determined to make sure the roads are safe from speeding drivers.
“I would like to remind residents that the speed limit along Station Road and Heronswood Road is 30mph. The limit is there for a reason and we’d like to thank all those who abide by it. You are playing your part in keeping our community safe.”
