A man has been arrested by police in connection with a knifepoint robbery in Stevenage.
The incident occurred in Bedwell Crescent, at just before 6.50am on Thursday 14 December.
It is alleged that a member of staff at McColl’s newsagents was threatened into handing over cash.
An investigation was launched by the Stevenage Local Crime Unit and a 44-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Thursday 21 December). He has been bailed while enquiries continue.
Detective Constable Darren Lomax, from the Stevenage Local Crime Unit, said: “Although an arrest has now been made, our enquiries are ongoing and I am continuing to appeal for anyone with information to please get in touch.
“If you live nearby and have CCTV or a doorbell camera fitted, please check any footage recorded just before or after the incident, to see if it has captured a male going past.
“If you have any other information at all, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to please contact DC Lomax by email.
