Officers from the police Safer Neighbourhood Team have helped to deliver more than 100 Christmas hampers to children in Ware and Stanstead Abbotts this week.
The hampers were put together thanks to generous donations from officers, local businesses, Ware Town Council and members of the public.
They contain a toy, a reading book, a colouring book, pens, a card game, a selection box and stickers, to help bring a little extra cheer this festive season.
PCSO Nadine Ledger said: “Once again, we’ve been completely overwhelmed by the generosity shown; it’s always so heart-warming to see the level of support we get for this project every year.
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported the appeal, including members of the local community, Ware Town Council, Tesco and Keith Ian Estate Agents, who also acted as a collection point for donations.
“We’d like to wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and a very happy new year.”
