Hertfordshire Constabulary is supporting Safer Internet Day which takes place today (Tuesday 7 February).
The theme of Safer Internet Day 2023 is ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online’.
Coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the day promotes the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people – and how parents and carers can support these.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Freeman, lead on child safeguarding, said: “More and more of our lives are now spent online and that of course includes the young people and children within our families and communities.
“Safer Internet Day is aimed at highlighting the importance of our children and teenagers being given the tools, information and support to keep themselves safe while online.
“Parents and carers can visit safer internet website (opens in a new window) for advice on how to support their children to be safe online.”
