Shoppers in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield were given free crime prevention devices by local officers on Saturday (4 February).
The Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team hosted stalls in John Lewis and The Galleria as part of their community engagement role.
The officers chatted to shoppers about local issues and gave out advice around crime prevention.
Free security devices were also handed out. These included purse bells which help protect against pickpockets.
PC Cameron Abraham said: “Thank you to everybody who stopped and had a chat with us, sharing their thoughts. Speaking to residents face-to-face is always really useful and gives us a good understanding of the local issues we need to be prioritising.
“We were pleased to be able to issue some free security devices too and hopefully these give peace of mind to residents.”
