The Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team are hosting a crime prevention stall in Welwyn village on Thursday (26 January).
PC Mitchell Cartwright and PCSO Jack Andrews will be at the Civic Centre in Prospect Place from 10am to 12pm.
The pair will be on hand to answer any concerns from residents and they will be issuing free crime prevention advice.
The event is one of many taking place as part of the national Neighbourhood Policing Week which started on Monday (23 January) and aims to highlight the vital role that neighbourhood officers play in communities.
These officers are different from Response/Intervention officers who typically deal with 999 calls (although they often work alongside them). Instead, the focus of neighbourhood officers is on tackling local crime issues and anti-social behaviour, using long term problem-solving. They often work with local partners such as councils and schools to achieve this.
PC Cartwright said: “We’re encouraging residents to come along to our crime prevention stall on Thursday. We’ll have an abundance of materials for you to take away advising you on all sorts of matters – from keeping your home and property safe to protecting your vehicle from theft.
“It’s a great opportunity for you to speak to us face-to-face about any issues bothering you. Is there something that has been causing you a nuisance? Come and let us know and we will do everything we can to help.”
