😊 New Year, new event! You’re invited to our first ‘Walkie Talkie’ – take a walk and talk with your local Safer Neighbourhood Team at Ashridge near Berkhamsted.
The Dacorum SNT are kicking off #NeighbourhoodPolicingWeek on Monday 23 January by launching a more active version of the traditional ‘Coffee with a cop’ events.
“The idea is that people can talk to us in a more relaxed way in a natural setting, rather than with the formal ‘Coffee with a cop’ and hopefully we will reach a different part of our community,“ explained Berkhamsted & Tring Sergeant Sarah Anderson, from Dacorum Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“People can talk to us about any issues, for example crime prevention, rural crime, anything really, also, walking and fresh air is good for the soul and mental health, so it’s great for residents and our team, too!”
Officers from the Rural Operational Support Team (ROST) will also be on hand to answer any questions.
To join the Walkie Talkie, please meet at the entrance to The National Trust café opposite the Ashridge Monument – What Three Words: roadshow.youth.remedy – at 10.30am, ready to set off for the walk at 11am.
Sarah added: “It is an out and back walk on a serviced path that will take about an hour, so participants will need to be able to manage this walk. There are benches along the route so people can stop and rest and we can scoop them up on the way back. We will also hang around afterwards should anybody want to come see us without the walk.”
