Appeal following alleged assault in Welwyn Garden City

Officers investigating an alleged assault in Welwyn Garden City are appealing for information and witnesses.

Police received a call at around 11pm last night (Monday 10 July), following reports of an altercation in Hyde Way.

Officers attended, alongside armed police.

A teenage boy, aged 16, sustained suspected stab wounds and was treated at A&E.

• A 16 year old boy from Welwyn Garden City was arrested on suspicion of GBH. He had also sustained a serious wound to his hand and was treated at A&E.
• Another 16 year old boy, also from Welwyn Garden City, was arrested on suspicion of affray. He had sustained minor cuts to his hand.

They both remain in custody at this time.

Police are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information. Officers are particularly keen to trace a male seen on CCTV in the road at the time of the offence. It is thought he may have seen what happened and could be a key witness.
