Risk awareness, safety on the streets, stalking, and conflict management are some of the topics being covered in a free women’s SAFE event in Stevenage.
Officers from the Stevenage Safer Neighbourhood Team have teamed up with the Community Security Trust (CST) and the Hollie Guard charity*, to host the event which takes place on Saturday 5 August, at Hampson Park Community Centre, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
Personal safety in both professional and private lives, using public transport, traveling to and from home, lone working, work visits and the use of technology to assist with safety, will also be looked at.
Stevenage Neighbourhood Inspector, Nick Redfearn said: “This event is part of our ongoing work to tackle violence against women and girls in all forms. It is important that everyone should be able to go about their business in Stevenage and feel safe.
“We are pleased to be able to offer this free event to local residents, which will address many of the key issues that affect feelings of safety and offer valuable advice.”
