Working on a court case from start to finish helping to achieve a positive result is rewarding work. We’re looking for more case administrators to assist us!
Preparing documentation for submission to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is a key part of the vital work done by the Administration of Justice (AOJ) team.
There are plenty of opportunities to learn and progress, James is now a business support assistant, having joined as a case administrator five years ago.
“I have always worked and lived in Hertfordshire and I studied at the University of Hertfordshire.” James recalls. “My previous working background involving care work and IT and this was beneficial for my work as you need to have a good understanding of basic IT software and you learn to use the more specific police systems.
“Working in the AOJ team appealed to me because you feel like you are making a difference to the public and helping victims and witnesses of crime through the Criminal Justice system.”
Whilst working in the AOJ team James has explored new methods of working and learned new skills. “I provide daily support to police officers with their case files and help to liaise with third parties like the CPS and court to ensure cases are held correctly.” he explains. “I like how no day is the same and there are always new challenges. There is a lot of opportunity for advancement both within the department and the organisation and we have a friendly office environment with colleagues who are always eager to help and provide support when needed.”
The AOJ team is based in Hatfield, but deals with cases from across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
