A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a Land Rover Defender which was stolen from a driveway in Berkhamsted.
Police were alerted at around 11:20pm on Wednesday 31 May that a car had been stolen.
The Defender which was stolen in the incident was recovered before the victim realised it had been taken.
Officers sighted the stolen vehicle, and a pursuit took place. As a result, a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and is currently on police bail.
DC Paul Cullinan said: “We know that theft of motor vehicles has been a concern for local residents, and we are happy to be able to bring some good news to the victim of this particular incident.
“We also want to reassure the local community that we will be doing all we can to reduce crime of this type in the area.”
