Police issued three traffic offence reports this morning (Tuesday 23 May) during a speeding operation in Welwyn Garden City.
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team took to Herns Lane in Panshanger to crack down on speeding drivers.
The road has a limit of 30mph.
A number of drivers were given words of advice whilst a further three were issued traffic offence reports.
These three drivers will now find themselves facing a potential fine, diversionary course or prosecution.
PC Anne Lopez, from the Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Speed limits exist for good reason and motorists should think carefully before choosing to ignore the limit. Do you want to be the person who causes a car crash? Speeding is one of the leading causes of road deaths and when residents report concerns about speeding, we take it seriously. I hope the public feel reassured by today’s operation. We are here and are always listening.”
