A man was arrested in Welwyn Garden City this morning (Friday 17 November) whilst officers were on a proactive operation.
Officers from Operation Scorpion, who were conducting Op Guardian patrols, spotted a man acting suspiciously in Elliott Close at around 6.30am.
A 37 year old man from Welwyn Garden City was arrested on suspicion of the following offences:
The man is in custody at this time.
Chief Inspector Kash Hussain said: “Officers were conducting patrols as part of Op Guardian which aims to prevent and tackle burglaries. As part of their patrols they also targeted locations that are hotspots for thefts from vehicles.
“I hope residents are reassured to hear that we were proactively out in the area looking to make arrests and keep you safe.
“If you spot suspicious behaviour, please always call 999 straight away.”
