Detectives in Stevenage are appealing for witnesses and information after two teenage boys had their phones and clothes stolen as they walked home from the Leisure Park on Saturday night (25 November).
The incident happened between 11.20pm and 11.40pm. The boys, who are aged 17 and 16, walked up the Fairlands Way cycle path and into Bedwell Crescent, where they were approached by two black men who were reported to be wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.
The men demanded the boys hand over some of their clothing (including their shoes), their bags and their phones, and one of them is reported to have produced a knife.
The offenders then walked away in the direction of Fairlands Way.
Investigating officer DC Chris Jones said: “We are interested in hearing from anyone who was in this area at the time and may have seen the robbery or witnessed the offenders prior to it.
“Neither of the victims were harmed in anyway, so it could be that you witnessed the incident without realising what was going on, or saw someone hanging around in the area or even following the boys?”
Anyone with information is asked to please email DC Chris Jones (opens in a new window).
