Police are appealing to find people who helped provide life-saving medical assistance to a man following a road traffic collision in St Albans.
The incident involving a grey Kia Sportage and a grey and black Renault Captur occurred just after 2pm on Wednesday 18 October in St Peters Street.
Officers attended along with colleagues from the ambulance service and fire and rescue service. A 76-year-old man has been taken by paramedics to hospital with serious injuries, however they are not now believed to be life threatening.
A 32-year-old woman was taken to hospital by paramedics as a precaution.
Both vehicles were recovered, and the road was reopened shortly after.
Sergeant Ian Leeson from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “I am relieved to say that the man who was taken ill at the wheel is now in a stable condition in hospital. This is after members of the public came to his aid and performed CPR at the scene of the incident and that helped save his life.
“We would like to contact these people. If this was you, please get in touch.”
