Almost 200 people turned up to Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Careers Discovery Day recruitment event last weekend, despite the heat!
Officers and staff hosted an interactive careers discovery day at The Fielder Centre in Hatfield on Saturday 9 September.
From our Roads Policing Unit, who were on hand to demonstrate how to use the stinger to stop a vehicle, to our Scientific Services Unit who were showing how they lift fingerprints at crime scenes, to our Force Communications Room who were holding typing tests for budding call handlers – we even had special guests Police Dog (PD) Micky and trainee PDs Prince and Groot on hand!
Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson, from the constabulary’s People and Workforce Development team, said: “I’d like to say thank you to everyone who came to our event on Saturday, who contributed to it being such a success.
“Thank you to the recruitment team, officers and staff for their professionalism and enthusiasm, and thank you to all of those who popped down to visit us – the excitement and commitment we saw from potential applicants on the day was excellent, and we hope the event gave you an idea of what to expect from a career in policing.
“If you couldn’t make it but would still like to know more about a career in policing and what entry pathways are available to you, please visit our work for us webpage.
