Officers from the Welwyn Hatfield Safer Neighbourhood Team have arrested two men and seized drugs in Welwyn Garden City.
Last Wednesday (6 September), police attended an address in Westfield, acting on information that a wanted male had been seen entering an address in the area.
A 35-year-old man from Welham Green, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of a knife/bladed article.
A second man was seen leaving the property and he was quicky arrested in nearby woodland. The 21 year old, from Ilford, was arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property and two counts of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug.
Both men have been bailed while the investigation continues.
A quantity of class A and B drugs (suspected crack cocaine and cannabis) and offensive weapons were seized by police from within the address.
Sergeant Deane Brittain, from the Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I hope this sends a clear message to those involved in criminality and drugs supply that your actions will not be tolerated in our community. We will continue to act swiftly on information received and ensure those responsible are brought to justice and the most vulnerable members of our community protected.”
