Detectives are investigating the following incidents at an address in Stanstead Abbotts which took place over the weekend.
At around 11.35pm last night (Sunday 3 September), it is reported that attempts were made to set fire to an address on Hillside Crescent.
The previous evening (Saturday 2 September), a large rock was reportedly thrown at the window of the same address.
Officers remain at the scene, with detectives from the East Herts Local Crime Unit leading the investigation and reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
Detective Constable Emma Cozens, who is investigating, said: "Fortunately, despite the address being occupied, no-one was injured during this reckless incident, although the consequences could have been catastrophic.
“Our enquiries continue, and I would like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to investigate and identify those responsible. We are also increasing patrols in the area as a result, and we believe this incident forms part of an ongoing dispute.
“I am now appealing for anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the incidents, to please come forward. If you also saw anything happen in the area prior to this, or witnessed anyone acting suspiciously at this time, please do get in touch. You can email me directly.”
